Come join us for a beautiful hike near Warm Springs. We’ll meet at the trail head at 10:00 AM. Depending on your commute, be sure to allow enough travel time to get there. I don’t remember there being a bathroom at the trailhead, so “be prepared”. This trail is advertised as 6.7 miles long, but in my experience I think it’s about an additional mile. Tentative lunch plans for after the hike at the State Park restaurant, down the highway a few miles from the trail head. (Back up, if they are closed, is to travel back to Warm Springs for lunch.) Some of us are car-pooling from my house near Grantville. Please let me know if you’d like to do that. However, you may want to make other arrangements if you are coming from another direction so that your route would not conveniently pass by Grantville (Exit 35 on I85). Bring plenty of water and a snack if you wish, plus bug-spray, sunscreen, etc. Info here: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/georgia/the-wolfden-loop-pine-mountain-trail-and-beaver-pond-trail To RSVP and/or to meet up for the trip, please call or text: 507-208-9530. This will be excellent training for the Hike Inn trip on Nov 15th btw, or just a super-fun way to enjoy the Fall! Brief instructions: Get to Warm Springs, the take a right at the 1st Stop Light. Drive up the highway and you’ll see the radio tower at the top of the mountain. The trail head parking lot is right there. $5 parking fee per vehicle.
