Presenter/Location: Panola Mountain State Park
Wonder why Panola Mountain is a restricted area? Come on a guided hike to learn about the unique ecology and history of Panola Mountain State Park. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks. Register in advance. $10 plus $5 parking. 770-389-7801. But be sure do so before the maximum of 25 slots are reserved. If you snooze, you lose!
This is a protected area so dogs are not allowed. This hike is 3 miles long and there is some climbing, thus they rate this as a strenuous hike. Walking sticks are OK so long as they do not have metal tips. This is a rain or shine event unless weather conditions are too hazardous such as lightening, tornadoes, etc.
If you want to carpool, contact Geralyn Daniel, 404-317-1803 and we can arrange a meeting place. I have an annual State Park pass.
