Hi everyone -
I wanted to send everyone a quick update from the Ladies On Spokes Annual Meeting.
Our discussions centered around the current board transitioning to a volunteer committee and the club canceling its legal status as a corporation and continuing forward strictly as a club. By canceling the status as a corporation, Ladies On Spokes will no longer have by-laws, dues, or insurance.
We will prepay the website and domain name for three years enabling the club calendar and emails to continue. I am in the process of working with the webmaster to develop a way for the people who want to be included in emails to be able to register with a no-fee password. Once this is set up, I’ll send out an email to let everyone know what they should do. We will continue with the Facebook group, which is our main contact.
Marcia Wiggers has graciously volunteered to lead the volunteer committee, which currently consists of Cindy Allen, Chris Darling, Deb Mariner, Mary Slaton, Evelyn Barella, and myself. The committee will continue to plan rides, organize yearly events and keep the club moving forward with rides, hikes, kayaks, socials and all the other wonderful activities that make our club so special!
The outgoing board is looking forward to the club moving ahead in a less formal manner and encourages our members to continue posting rides and events for everyone to enjoy!.
